60's & 70's /// Yonca Müzik /// Igniting Turkish Psychedelia

Our story traces back to 1968 in Istanbul, where Yonca Müzik emerged as a pioneering force in the Turkish music scene. By blending Western rock instrumentation with traditional Turkish folk melodies, Yonca played a crucial role in the birth of Turkish Psychedelia. Notable artists like Mazhar ve Fuat, who later formed the legendary band MFÖ, began their careers with Yonca. Their groundbreaking work left a lasting impact on Turkish music.

The Yonca catalog also includes legendary artists such as Timur Selçuk, Alpay, Hümeyra, Özdemir Erdoğan, and Tanju Okan. These musicians became cultural icons whose influence continues to inspire artists today.

80's & 90's /// Topkapı Müzik /// Dawn of Turkish Pop

In the late 1980s, we continued to elevate Turkish artists through Topkapı Müzik, founded by Ali Ünal Tunalı and Mehmet Arman. Shifting focus to Turkish productions in 1993, Topkapı nurtured and debuted iconic artists such as Candan Erçetin, Yaşar, Ege, and Emre Altuğ. Their music resonated with audiences and contributed significantly to the modern Turkish pop landscape.

Despite originating in the cassette and CD eras, Topkapı Müzik's catalog has amassed hundreds of millions of streams on digital platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. Their songs remain staples on Turkish radio and are celebrated by DJs and live musicians alike.

Bridging Cultures Through Live Music and Nightlife

Beyond recordings, we've been involved in live music and nightlife through Cavalone Co., founded in 2015. From the energy of Masquerade Club in Istanbul to the ambiance of Nusr-et Steakhouse locations worldwide, Cavalone has created immersive experiences that blend music and culture. Operating in cities like Miami, London, and Dubai, we've collaborated with artists like Fat Joe, Tyga, Akon, Ne-Yo, and LMFAO, enhancing nightlife scenes and fostering cultural exchanges.

Our partnerships with venues like Cavalli Club Dubai and events like the Monaco International Clubbing Show (MICS) have brought top DJs like Tiesto, David Guetta, and Martin Garrix to audiences, influencing global music trends.

Venturing into Electronic Music with Rist Records

We also delved into electronic music with Rist Records (Radio Istanbul), which began as a radio station and evolved into a record label and event series. Focusing on genres like Organic Downtempo and Ethnic Electronica, Rist Records collaborates with a diverse array of artists, including Afterlife, Oceanvs Orientalis, Carlita, and projects like Majnoon. Our events, such as the Ethnic Universe series, have taken place in locations from Istanbul to iconic venues like Scorpios Mykonos, The Stay Hotels, Soho House, and festivals like Echoes of Agartha in Cappadocia and Chill Out Festival Istanbul. These events combine music with visual arts, creating immersive experiences that resonate with audiences.
